The yardages given below are approximate only, based on a 40" skirt length, and without trimmings, unless stated otherwise. Longer skirt lengths, or addtional trimmings will require extra fabric
Patterns are listed in numerical order:
101 - Petticoat with Bustle
45" wide fabric: 5 ¼ yards - 7 yards, depending on size.
60" wide fabric: 4 ¾ yards - 5 2/3 yards ,depending on size.
Notions: Hoop boning, single fold bias tape 1" wide, hook and eye closures, 3 yards tie strings (may use ribbon, tape, string, etc.).
102 - 1879 Chemise and Drawers
Chemise: 3 5/8 yards.
Drawers: 3 yards.
Notions:Drawers: two buttons, 1½ yards drawstring.
Chemise: 1 ½ yards insertion lace, 2 yards ribbon.
103 - Eliptical cage Crinoline
Fabric: 2 yards.
Bone Casing: 14 1/4 yards. Use 3/4" wide bone casing or other tubular casing.
Grosgrain Ribbon: 7 3/4 yards. Use 7/8" wide ribbon.
Hoop Wire: 28 1/2 yards (three 12 yard rolls). Use 1/2" wide, plastic coated hoop wire.
Belting: 1 1/2 yards. Use 3/4" wide, thin webbed belting.
Tie strings: 4 yards. Use narrow ribbon, laces, etc.
Notions: one buckle, 3/4" wide, must fit belting and hold firm. Eight (8) 1/2" U-tips to cover ends of hoop wire.
